"The purpose of the award is to recognize an outstanding student who responds with care and concern towards the needs of others and has the ability to bring humor to the serious business of life." Bay Roost  Scholarship Program

The Association of Old Crows (AOC) is a professional organization comprised of individuals engaged in the science of electronic warfare.  The membership includes engineers, scientists, managers, operators, and educators from government, industry, and the military services.  Electronic warfare is the collective term applied to the technical field that includes the design, development, and operational use of command and control communications, guided weapons systems, and electronic countermeasures equipment.  This field includes target acquisition and fire direction systems, radar and communications jammers, aircraft penetration aids (including radar warning receivers, self-protection devices, and stealth and air defense suppression systems.  In brief, we are the individuals responsible for the “high tech” systems that so ably demonstrated their worth in the War in the Gulf.

The AOC firmly believes that education is the keystone of a strong national defense.  Toward that end, the AOC Educational Foundation was established to assist in educating US citizens who are likely to pursue careers in electronic warfare.  In keeping with this objective, financial aid is provided to students who pursue degrees in relevant technical curricula — i.e., electrical engineering, physics, aeronautical/aerospace engineering, and computer science.

Since 1983, the Scholarship Program of the Chesapeake Bay Roost (CBR) of the Association of Old Crows has provided financial assistance totaling $133,200 to 281 deserving high school graduates and college students that we hope will pursue careers in the chosen profession of our members ... electronic warfare.
